Behind the scenes of the double tragedy in Lidzbark. "Dorota kept repeating that she loved him"

Behind the scenes of the double tragedy in Lidzbark. "Dorota kept repeating that she loved him"

Dorota was 34 years old. She had lived her entire life in a block of flats on Jeleńska Street – in the apartment of her mother, who had died two years ago. That is why her sudden disappearance immediately aroused concern among the neighbours. She was last seen on 10 June.

– We passed each other while walking the dog – one of the neighbors tells us. Another one admits that she tried to contact Mrs. Dorota. – I started knocking on her door. She also had an open balcony window, so I shouted: "Dorotka, Dorotka". But nothing, no reaction – the woman tells "Fakt".

Macabre discovery in Lidzbark. Bodies lying in apartment for over a week

Over time, an increasingly noticeable unpleasant odor began to waft from the stairwell. The concerned neighbor explains that she initially suspected rodents, but the intensity of the odor increased to such an extent that she decided to notify the building's management.

The housing cooperative quickly called the police. Two bodies were found in the apartment: Dorota R. and Grzegorz T. According to our unofficial information, Grzegorz T. struck his partner with a hammer and then killed himself.

The Blue Card did not save Dorota R.

Investigators confirm that two years ago, the 50-year-old had a Blue Card, which is used in cases of suspected domestic violence. "She was afraid of him. He came at her with a knife," the couple's neighbors tell us.

The man disappeared from the apartment for a while, but at some point he reappeared. "Dorota would run away from the house more than once and come running to us. I explained to her: 'Leave him alone, don't let him in the house, but she kept saying she loved him,'" the distraught woman describes.

And she admits that in recent days she has not heard any screams coming from the apartment. "If that had been the case, I would have reacted immediately," she emphasizes.

If you need immediate help, you can go to Crisis Intervention Centers (OIK), which are located in every larger city. You can get psychological, legal, and material help there. Some OIKs are open 24 hours a day and, for example, run shelters. HELP is free! You don't have to have insurance.

If you have persistent and strong suicidal thoughts, you can also go to any psychiatric hospital. There, too, you don't need health insurance. In emergency situations (if you say it's urgent), a doctor must see you the same day.

Free crisis helpline for young people: 116 111 (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). Adults can use the free crisis helpline 116 123 (open 7 days a week from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). A list of aid organizations and more information can be found at www.samobojstwo.pl .
